Redford Township has over 50 community organizations, over 30 churches, and a district library serving its residents.
Additionally, the township is equipped with an 18-hole public golf course (Glenhurst Golf Course); two community parks; eight neighborhood parks; three tot-lots; four lighted and two unlighted ball diamonds; 12 little league diamonds; three sand volleyball courts; six soccer fields; two picnic shelters; eight lighted and two unlighted tennis courts; two county parks; three fitness/jogging/rollerblading trails; and five enclosed roller-hockey/rollerblading areas. New additions include a skate park and a splash pad.
Redford is home to three school districts:
- Clarenceville School District encompasses several blocks in the northwest corner of Redford Township as well as the northeast corner of Livonia, and southern part of Farmington Hills
- Redford Union School District which covers most of northern Redford has a total enrollment of 3,193 students.
- South Redford School District, covering the southern portion of Redford, has a total enrollment of 3,390 students.
- There are also seven private schools within the township.
Local Government
Redford is a charter township in Wayne County and a suburb of Detroit. Our community is governed by a board of directors consisting of a supervisor, clerk, treasurer, and four trustees elected at large. Board meetings take place on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at Redford Town Hall, 15145 Beech Daly, Redford, MI 48239. The township has 25 voting precincts with 34,974 registered voters.
